PAGE HAMILTON Explains Decision To Reactivate HELMET

HELMET mainman Page Hamilton has spoken to Billboard magazine about his decision to reactivate the seminal hard rock act with guitarist Chris Traynor, former WHITE ZOMBIE/TESTAMENT drummer John Tempesta and former ANTHRAX bassist Frank Bello.

"I never felt it was musically done," Hamilton said. "I always felt I had more HELMET records to write."

With regards to criticism that Hamilton should not be touring and recording under the HELMET name without fellow original members Henry Bogdan (bass) and John Stanier (drums),he said, "People can debate it, but to me, it's like, life is short. Who cares. I don't see why I should stop doing it because John and Henry don't want to, when both of them were presented with the option. Unfortunately, we have no relationship personally anymore. That's not my choice."

As previously reported, the new HELMET album, "Size Matters", is due on September 14 through Interscope Records.

"Size Matters" was recorded by Ryan Boesch, Chris Holmes, and former NINE INCH NAILS keyboardist Charlie Clouser at Cello studios (formerly Western Recorders) in Hollywood as well as Charlie's personal studio, and was produced by Hamilton and Clouser.
